The Lady in the Flour

Don't be afraid.

We had a visitation on Thursday night.

Here are images of the pile of flour left over after Husby mixed pizza dough.

I was sitting in the kitchen, chatting and laughing with our wonderful friend, and it was he who discovered the Lady in the Flour as Husby was preparing the rest of the ingredients.
Untouched by any of us, this is how she appeared.
We took pictures, Husby scoffed, and cleaned her away.
But I await her visits in the kitchen again.
further, on July 4...
It's not beyond possibility that this was an actual apparition. After all, only a few years ago there was an appearance in a cheese toasty in Florida:
And more recently, in an ultrasound in Ohio:

The Power of a Dream Board

If you've read or seen the movie The Secret you'll probably remember what a dream or vision board is. It's a place where any images that excite, delight or inspire you are kept- somewhere you see every day. You can gather the images from magazines, newspapers, your own pictures- the only criteria is, you've got to feel really juiced whenever you clap eyes on it. These images are words, or things you love- things you'd like to have in your life and make you feel good whenever you think about. A dream board directs your focus to that which you want to see appear in your life and- like magic- the law of attration delivers them to you.

Not rightaway, you understand. There exists a "buffer of time" in our time/space reality where (luckily) a degree of resistance has to be overcome before our desires materialise in our life. But, when we keep on focusing on them and feeling good about them, they are delivered. The only way we interrupt this process- the only way we can stop it happening- is when we turn our attention to something else, or when we focus on not having what we want. Hence the reason why Dream Boards are so powerful- we see them every day (so they are always reminding us want we want), and we're to look at them and feel really, really good, knowing, this is our future, and it's heading our way!

Did you know... you can enhance the power of your Dream board by placing it in the South, the fame & recognition area of your home? By sticking red paper to the back and placing it, according to the Eight Mansions school of feng shui, in the vicinity of your main door, you'll speed up the rate at which the things you desire appear in your life.

One more thing- the amount of positive energy having a dream board generates in your life daily is just amazing. If you don't have one, you need to make one, fast! This lesson was "hit home" to me earlier this year, when I had the services of the amazing Passionate Life Coach, Pamela Mattsson (http://www.passionatelifecoach.com/).

I had been curious about life coaching and wanted to try it, and when I read Pamela's great articles on http://www.expatwomen.com/, I knew she was the one! One of our assignments was for me to complete a vision board- in 3 hours. She explained this was to short-circuit the perfectionist within us that procrastinates and doesn't compete anything until it's perfect. I dutifully fulfilled my "assignment", and now enjoy one of the nicest dreamboards I've ever had. Placed in the South, of course...

So, what are you waiting for? You've got 3 hours- go!

Any questions, feel free to comment, or send me an email... samantha@fengshuibythesea.com

"It’s the vibrational essence that brings all of the details. And the details will come exactly as you defined them.
But when you let the Universe mix the cake as you’ve been adding the ingredients, the cake that you eat is more delicious than anything you have been able to imagine.
The Universe (is) able to take every piece of everything you ever wanted and reflect it back to you in the most wonderful way."

Meditation on a Feng Shui Phone

Love it? Hate it? Ambivalent?

Here's a picture of the original "feng shui phone" which came out earlier this year. Now, it has a competitor, which has just been launched, which looks like a black laquer box, with a gold dragon and pearl on the cover. Take a look on the link below- what do you think?

http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9972587-1.html

Are we looking in the right direction for a positive-energy life here?

I'm not even tempted. But it has inspired me to think about just how important our cell/mobile/blackberry/palm pilots are to us. I've just spent two weeks overseas without a phone, after purchasing a special international sim chip that promised the earth... and didn't even deliver the EU.

And those two weeks without a phone was good feng shui. Walking about, I felt free. When I had to wait, I felt patient. There were none of those moments when my battery was running low, and needed more juice, like, NOW. No times where I discovered I'd missed a call and began to think what did they want? was it urgent??

Writing this now, with (it's working again!) mobile phone in sight, I feel like the monk who'd been meditating on a mountain in solitude for five years. I'm so peaceful and serene, he thinks, I'm enlightened! So he decides to recommence his life in the village... comes down from the mountain... And as soon as he arrives, feels his frustration rising up with the taxi driver... a flash of anger at a rude passer-by...

"Peace. It doesn't mean being in a place where there is no noise, dust or hard work. It means to be in the midst of these things and still be calm in your heart"

The spiritual challenge isn't to remove all obstacles to peace. It's more to live in this modern world and feel at peace.

So... I've just had a change of heart. If the Feng Shui Phone can make any of us feel more blessed or peaceful in the middle of a hurry-scurry world, it is a valuable tool indeed for a positive-energy life.

Wake-up to feng shui

Good morning!

Do you know how much the first thing you do in the morning impacts the rest of your day?

A huge amount.

So how does a good feng shui day begin? (Does, still bleary eyed, padding down the stairs, popping the coffee pot on, then firing up the PC to check emails sound a bit too familiar to you? I'm blushing, too! Any media first thing in the morning represents you creating a day where you feel hurried and striving throughout.)

Upon waking, I love to take any of these simple actions, and have found that they can set the stage for the best day of your life ahead:

  • a few minutes resting in bed counting blessings...

  • reaching over for a jotter and listing ten things I'm grateful for, three things I'm excited about and two things I'm proud of, in life right now...

  • hugging & kissing a loved one or pet...

  • taking a refreshing shower and having a big stretch...

  • and, when I'm feeling very inspired... falling straight into yoga postures or the lotus position for a few minutes of meditation.
One good energy action done, and I'm free to... pad down the stairs, put the coffee pot on, and fire up the PC... a regular early-morning visit these days is to http://simplybreakfast.blogspot.com for beautiful, calming breakfast pictures like the one above. Fills one with healthy chi just peeking at them!
and the thought... Wouldn't it be nice if this was the best day of my life?

P.S. It's never too late to start your morning again. A few deep breaths and holding the intention to "begin again" is a great way to do this.

Have a great day!
love,

Samantha.

England's magical South-West and an Isle steeped in mystery and magic

Feng Shui By The Sea has gone zero-geography again as we travel in the UK for a month.

Magical experiences have blessed us already
... at Chalice Well in Glastonbury, doing Melody's "Love is in the Earth" practitioner workshop

... in the Scottish hills surrounded by family love and a "therapy garden"
... and here on the secret rock we share with fairy-folk, aka the Isle of Man

All this green is wonderful healing for desert eyes!

Feng Shui By The Sea tip

On the move, you don't often have time or the resources to cleanse a space with salt water, lemons or a candle. So did you know- you can use any symbolic gesture you're drawn to to cleanse a home, room or space from negative energy. Like...
Stand in each corner and clap three times, sharply;
Using your hands like a bowl, scoop energy from the room and throw out the door;
Or, mentally "paint" the room with sunshine or white light, affirming in your head that it's now filled with clean, healing chi.
