Clutter-busting for summer

Clutter in everyway results in a life of ideas half-formed, projects just started and not completed, unchecked lists and beautiful moments that sparkle and fade. It reminds me that for everything there is a time, especially "A time to search, and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep, and a time to throw away. A time to tear apart, and a time to sew together"- from Ecclesiastes.

And when this life cluttered full of beautiful and irritating grates on us, we know a different time has come true. We may not even know what it is yet... we'll just have to play along and follow our bliss.

So it's a sunny day, perfect for throwing open the windows and out the half-baked ideas and mass of brochures collected from winter and spring- time to let the sun in!
clutter busting for summer is a special process that can heal and deeply ready us for new positive energy. June newsletter features a special how to, and how to create fantastic interactions using the Law of Attraction. If you're a resolute "planner" you will LOVE becoming a person who easily attracts fun times.. please sign up in the box at the top of the page so you can benefit!

Dream-life for ducks

A few days ago, Husby rescued a lost duckling at one of the Castles he frequents, and now they travel together in the helicopter everywhere. It even follows him when he goes out jogging. Pampered by various chefs, staying in lovely hotels...

This little duck has the law of attraction well sorted!

Live the life you love!

Life is amazing! Isn't it wild how differently we all live? Do you love where you live, who you are, what you do? Are you the star of your own dream-life?

Take the chance -if you have a few moments!- to think way beyond present reality...
daydream or journal at least 4 dream lives you'd like to lead.
... if you need an imagination jump-start, perhaps consider-: What would you do for work if money was no object? Where would you live, with whom, and how would you go about your day?

If this time-space reality has within it the ability to inspire a desire within you, it is absolute that this time-space reality has the ability to yield you a full and satisfying manifestation of that same desire. It is Law.

A soft place to land

"The soft place to land that you create should inspire within you the mantra, "I can breathe here. I can relax here. I know I am safe here." When you return to your home after braving worldly rigors, you will feel a subtle yet tranquil shift occur inside of you as you settle in to this most personal of retreats and feel centered once again. "
-from the Daily Om
although we are children of the universe and life is our safe, abundant playground, isn't it wonderful to have our own, special, soft place to land?

Feel-good Food and great Feng Shui

Food, fitness and feeling good have alot to do with feng shui. I love to visit the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York online for their concepts on how to create harmony in the body through food which will enhance our lives.

May I share with you two of my favourite concepts from their form of nutrition that absolutely apply themselves most aptly to successful feng shui?

1. The concept of "Crowding out"

Integrative Nutrition says: that the reason so many diets fail, is because they limit or prohibit the foods we eat that we love, but which are unhealthy. The secret to successfully eating well is to ADD more vegetables, more healthy proteins, more quality fats and more wholegrains to our diet.

How it works: If you're eating an omelette and large vegie juice for breakfast with green tea and wholegrain toast, where are you going to find room to put the donut?

With a Feng Shui By the Sea perspective: many people are focused on the things that aren't working or perfect yet in their lives. Yet there are so many things that are going right! When we look at, talk about, and try to fix the problems in our life, they remain foremost in our minds and consequently, our experience.

How it works: By filling our minds each morning wih counting blessings and looking for the things we want to see all through the day, there's limited chance to focus on negative predictions, and life takes an upswing.

2. The concept of a "Does it work for you?" Food Journal.

Integrative Nutrition says: Foods have different effects on different people at different times. Keep a diary of what you eat, record how you feel when you eat it, then record how you feel two hours after.

With a Feng Shui By The Sea perspective: Different feng shui remedies work in different areas. When you are drawn to move furniture or bring a new piece into your home, note how you feel when you first position it, then note how you feel two hours after.

How it works for both: Impulse, habit, or the "norm" causes us to feel good in the short term, but in a very short period of time we know if something is truly right for us!

I'd like to add here the word chronic... any by the way, did you know this doesn't mean permanent, it comes from the word root "chron" meaning "over time"... what choices do you continually make in your home decor (or diet) that really you feel are not in alignment with the person you truly are inside?

Truly food for thought!

much love!

PS Don't you just love this little pic of "the happiest eggs in the world"! Had to show you! i bought them last week in Surfers Paradise from the nearby granite belt region of Queensland. what a beautiful marketing idea... such feel good energy.

non-violence

gorgeous images by tanja askani

Knowing how powerful it is to have an intent, i was moved by Deepak Chopras on intent.com...

to have at least 100 million people join me in taking a vow for non violence in thought, speech and action asap

It reminds me of the day in A Course in Miracles, where the meditation is, "I will not hurt myself again to-day".

now i see... Non-violence is not just ignoring the spider busy spinning in the corner of the room. It's saying, "Do I really know this to be true? What else could this mean?"
when i am tempted to get offended or feel any sort of negative emotion.

What does non-violence in thought, speech and action mean to you?

On many things magic

I believe in magic. I believe that wishes come true. And I believe because there’s evidence all around us- when we really look to see...

Full moon last night- wasn’t it strong?- did you feel inner changes calling you, or did random events seemingly happen to you?

Went down to the ocean to get a picture- for tonight I’ll leave this wide sandy beach- and the full moon held a special message for lovers! Look carefully!

An Upside-down love heart hangs in the full moon sky
Love’s reflection in the water.. its time to say good-bye.

The sunrise this morning reminds us that every cloud holds a rose-gold lining; it’s not the most magnificent we’ve seen, but I did promise you:

Now, as I write, the last of the washing hangs in strong sunshine and flaps gently in the sea breeze. It’s another perfect, sunny day in paradise.

Don’t really know what else to say, except that I am blessed with my favourite way to travel in style, as will be whisked off in a few hours by emirates chauffeur service to Brisbane and then on through Singapore, Dubai, Gatwick and onto the Isle of Man. Woo hoo! I feel so blessed! Looking forward to one of these delicious flat bed seats!

Husby’s pictures from yesterday, acting like a siren-song, luring me away from golden sands to his distant land…

Point of Ayre: the Isle of Man has beaches too, it’s just not Surfer’s Paradise…

Carlingford:

The weather forecast is wet, cold and windy,
And I can’t think of anywhere on earth I’d rather be.

To all Australian and US mummies; have a magical Mother’s Day!

May your road lead you home to those you love today.

Life's a garden..

"Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.

-Mother Teresa.

I do love this quote. Some of the words are a little hard: that's why i think every line should be preceded by the word When...

Here's another, not said by Mother Teresa:

Life's a garden- dig it!

Day dawns in 'paradise

Let there be spaces in your togetherness and let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
-Kahlil Gibran
... Have been blessed to witness the most beautiful sunrises here from my balcony over the past 3 months. With all their reminders of what to do with a precious day! ~*~ how much the universe loves us ~*~ forgiveness ~*~ new beginnings ~*~ new possibilities...
Now, I have only one sunrise left to see- tomorrow's. Because then- I'm going home!
Hope you enjoy these sunrises, too!

What won't you leave behind? (Feng Shui for Moving Home)

It makes me laugh! To see what precious things have survived a few years in storage to bring home!

What can’t you leave behind when you move countries?

Here’s some of mine…

Heirloom china, a wedding present from my auntie- isn’t this the most perfect cup for a relaxing brew...

Makes me feel like tea and biscuits.

Clever auntie! She has given us three cups and saucers, three side plates and two bowls, perfect set up for a tea party
Or a spot of tasseomancy...

This old-time juicer must have been quite a work of art!

I think of my great-grandmother bringing these things all the way to Australia from Ireland on the ship as part of her glory box. Now 100 years later, I wrap them carefully too, to take them back from Australia to our home in the Irish sea. Amazing!

Things a little less historic…

I have loved this rooster since 1999 when I found it in a charity store near Manly. Feng Shui says a rooster in your kitchen will protect your home from fire. And this one's so cheeky!

Shadow-box, bought in New York, which is a lovely way to create a vision board. Inside it right now is a picture of Husby as a little boy, and a tag from the St Helena Olive Oil company from a trip to Napa. Hmmm.. what is this attracting?

Finally- and we don’t know quite how to ship them, really... hand luggage?

The 4 Frangipanis- to activate abundance and prosperity, which have been hanging crookedly above my bed here and working their magic on the South East wall.

More in a few days when I’m all packed up!

What to do when a dream comes true

Faith is the substance of things Hoped for, the evidence of things unseen. The very fact that we have faith, is evidence that what we hope for is real.
- Hebrews 11:1

just a little PDG (public display of gratitude) that a beautiful wish of mine came true today as i hold in my hands a passport that lets me live and work and love and stay permanently where I have come to call my blessed home.

And the battle was won those long nights spent looking for just the right receipts...

On the many mail deliveries that brought another important document...

On the days in the past three months here thousands of miles away, imagining when Husby and I would be together again and create a life with no expiry date...

That's why it's a quiet victory now.

The battle wasn't won today. I had many helpers along the way- thank you! Energetic supporters, to a little or a large degree. Desire, and hope, and belief. And most magically, the faith and unwavering support of a beautiful Scottish rock- aka Husby.

Whatever you're waiting for... Keep the faith.

love,
Samantha.

p.s. A lovely example of how the strategies in May Cheat sheet are so powerful!

p.p.s. Do you believe in signs? Last week I kept stumbling across pictures like these... what do you suppose?

"A dream is a wish your heart makes
When you're fast asleep

In dreams you will lose your heart-ache
Whatever you wish for, you keep!

Have faith in your dreams, and someday
Your rainbow will come shining through-

No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing

The dream that you wish, will come true."

if any of these adorable images are yours, I would love to give you credit. please leave a comment, below.

Freeing the secret self

"The most enlightened people in the world embrace their full potential of light and dark. When you're with people who recognize and own their negative qualities, you never feel judged by them. It's only when people see good and bad, right and wrong, as qualities outside themselves that judgments occur."

When I was 28 I learnt that...

... exploring what you consider to be the unlovable or shameful aspects of who you are will set you free. You might even enjoy owning these parts you always tried to keep secret!

Like the monsters under the bed that disappear when the lights come on, it is only by recognising our inherent innocence that we can learn to fully trust ourselves. We realise the only monsters under the bed are the ones we put there! And this re-found belief in our own innocence opens the door to real love.

what does your secret self constantly whisper about? could giving her her desire... set you free?
Have you decided to look for the monsters under your bed, and found anew life on the other side?
How many Saturn returns have you survived?

Are you naturally Ayurveda?

...have never come across Ayurveda explained as simply as this, and I am grateful to Marianne Wells for this information.

Do you appreciate Ayurvedic philosophy? Do you believe we can live by it and it may be the way to health for you? How much of the ayurvedic lifestyle do you already bring into your day?

Much love!

“Yoga is not possible for him who eats too much, nor for him who does not eat at all, nor for him who is addicted to too much sleep, nor for him who is ever wakeful.”

-The Bhagavad Gita.

Ayurveda wisdom believes in a progressive approach to total wellbeing, and that adjustments to ones lifestyle create holistic balance. The root “Ayu” is ancient Sanskrit for “life” while “veda” implies “knowing.”

The concept is that all disease begins with an imbalance or stress in the individuals consciousness, emphasizing mind-body-spirit integration that seek to treat the person as a whole. Self nurturing through diet, herbal remedies including aromas, yoga, meditation, sleep, and breathing, is truly the most natural thing in the world.

The purity and the progress of this approach influences the consciousness itself.

Ayurveda wisdom believes that the qualities of nature fall into three groups; sattva, rajas, and tamas, and that everything is made up of these groups in different proportions. You are what you eat. You are what you think. Food nourishes the body and the mind. This preventative way of life is becoming more main stream today. Modern science is confirming that you can enhance health and in some cases prevent problems through this simple wisdom of self discipline, patience, and commitment.

GOALS OF THE AYURVEDA LIFESTYLE

1) Clean more than teeth, floss and brush gums and tongue.

2) Ease into the day with meditation, connecting to your Higher Power.

3) Have a steady yoga practice, even if that is only five minutes per day.

4) Understand that personal care and hygiene routines restore body and balance mind.

5) Eat slowly and peacefully small amounts of simple lubricating foods to fill half the stomach.

6) Eat the freshest foods possible with little or no cooking.

7) Live in harmony with nature.

8) Be positive and joyful, see the gratitude in everything.

9) Reflect physically and mentally each and every day.

10) Devote time to sleep.

THE ELEMENTS OF NATURE ACCORDING TO AYURVEDA

• The Space Element moves in all directions, no beginning or end, associated with hearing.

• The Air Element is essential for life on earth, always in motion, associated with touch.

• The Fire Element represents the energy of the sun, power to transform, associated with sight.

• The Water Element covers two-thirds of the earth’s surface and the human body, associated with taste.

• The Earth Element is the source of fertile life, associated with smell. The mother of the world, “Mother Earth.”

THE THREE DOSHA

• Svata, space and air, the force that allows for movement within the body.

• Pitta, fire and water, the force that allows for heat within the body.

• Kapha, water and earth, the force that allows for cohesion within the body.

FOOD FOR OPTIONAL HEALTH

• Sattva / pure and nourishing. All wholesome and nourishing. The quality of lightness and purity. Try to keep diet and everything else about life as sattvic as possible. (foods such as milk, butter, beans, honey, fresh fruit, fresh vegies, grains, pure water are all Sattva)

• Rajas / spicy and stimulating. All stimulate to the nervous system. The quality of overactivity and passion. Try to avoid food, situations, and conditions that are rajasic (such as coffee, tea, onions, garlic, eggs, chocolate, refined sugar, white flour, alcohol, tobacco, spicy)

• Tamas / impure heavy and slow. Over ripe and impure foods. The quality of lethargy, inertia, and laziness. Try to avoid food, situations, and conditions that are tamasic (like meat, fish, eggs, mushrooms, vinegar, frozen, canned, over cooked, reheated foods, drugs, medications & alcohol)

~~~
P.S A week left in gorgeous Australia! Very close to me there is a lovely Govindas, source of positive vegetarian energy... can't find a website for this one in Surfers Paradise, but when in Sydney, Govindas buffet + movie is a MUST do!
Plus, many new age shops with very fair prices for such things as Nag Champa incense; buddhist relics and crystals.
IF you cannot buy these things where you are, please email me, and I will send them to you. Send your email before May 7!
Lovers in London
I'm a sucker for a good love-story, aren't you? Not particularly tear-jerking or change the world original, but there is something very sweet about Kim & Josiah's engagement on the London Eye. Kim is very entertaining always, and here you can read she's just happy, happy happy.
Being excited for lovers and their delight is a wonderful way to attract more love of our own!
...perhaps I like this story so much because here on the gold coast, whether I'm running on the beach or out shopping, I'll (practically) run into it seems hordes of Asian tourists. They love to take pictures of things we take for granted: seagulls on the sand, the wide, empty ocean. I smile at the excited screams of the older men and ladies with trousers rolled up to ther knees- they get so excited as the waves rush around their feet. It's easy to become too amused!
Kim and Josiah's story reminds me that each day and every place is a miracle for someone- their life story unfolding. A dearly held dream comes true, at last, or a happy surprise is changing the life of everyone we see with a smile on their face, every time.
I love this thought.
Love and luck to you!
The beautiful paintings of Akiane
Have you seen the beautiful work of artist Akiane, who began painting aged 7? Both these were done by her at age 13.
“To say that Akiane has extraordinary talent is a gross understatement. She is a young genius and a spiritual young lady with an amazing gift who is changing the lives of all who have come in contact with her.” -Fox News
About this second painting, Innocence, Akiane says,
One morning as my studio lamps were lighting the portrait I almost fell off the chair. I quickly called my family into my studio to make sure that what I was viewing on the linen was not my imagination.
Everyone did see what I was seeing: from the front Mary looked young, happy and uncommonly beautiful, however, by looking at her from the side she appeared much older, and tears with wrinkles covered her whole face. Unintentionally, I created a holographic image because of the multiple layers of paint. I don’t know why this happened. Maybe for a manifestation of two different times in her life.
**
This top picture, Gayshe, I love from a feng shui point of view. The poem and description Akiane makes of it is profound in itself.
As an outsider, it also holds another sort of wonderful symbology. She painted it for her mother who was having difficulty in pregnancy with her little brother. In feng shui, the cherry blossoms and gourd shape their shower makes, are both very auspicious for fertility. The water represents emotion and holds the powerful Yin energy of the eternal female... this would be a very helpful picture in feng shui for any lady yearning for or expecting a child.
You can see more of Akiane's work here!
