Beautify your home for Weight-loss

Have you been drawn to Marianne Williamson's newest book, "A Course in Weight-Loss"?

I am making my way, delicate bite by bite, through it-  it's deep reading, often throwing up a mirror to parts of oneself not often looked at, and that's why I was so delighted to find and to share with you a wonderful article here which interviewed Marianne in her sacred home in LA, and put into chewable chunks some of the wonderful points her book enlightens us on.

From it, I've pulled 3 questions we can all ask ourselves to uncover where our weight-loss efforts may be being self-sabotaged.  Read on- do any resonate with you?

1.  Do you have a space in your home dedicated to self-love?                                                                                                        "As Williamson writes, "Darn right you're hungry, but not for food."  Think of all the time spent idling in the kitchen with nervous energy, browsing through the refrigerator. Why not replace that ritual by visiting a space devoted to self-love? With an altar devoted to love and comfort, you have a place to reflect and address your emotions, rather than quiet them by overeating.

It's almost like replacing comfort food with comfort objects -- looking to an inherited lamp or plate, rather than a recipe, to remind you that you're not alone..."

2.  Does the food you choose, reflect the inner beauty that is You?                                                                                           "Beauty in food is no different than beauty on my coffee table," says Williamson.
"A lot of these unhealthy, chemically-processed foods, they're not beautiful," she says. "The packaging might be beautiful,
but when you think about what's in them and how they affect your body... there's no beauty there." going on to say-

"I am as endangered by the presence of too many carbs and chemically-processed foods as anyone," she says. So she's careful to keep these items out of sight and out of mind."

3.  How valuable is this mouthful to you?
"There were times in my life when I would look at some food in my home and say 'I can't throw it out, someone spent good money on that!' But if its really bad for you, the idea that there's something good in indulging in it -- it's kind of insane thinking," she says. "Yes, someone may have paid a lot for those sweets. But, well, you're going to pay a lot if you indulge. You pay with your health."
While going through the contents of your refrigerator or cabinets, ask yourself Williamson's question: "Was buying this an act of self love?" If the answer is no, you know where to throw it."

Pretty... but hardly helpful for willpower!  Body's cravings are strong and natural desires, but can be
minimised by keeping carbohydrate-loaded foods out of sight & mind.

This week, consider for yourself...
1.  Do you have a space in your home dedicated to self-love?
2.  Does the food you choose, reflect the inner beauty that is You?
3.  How valuable is this mouthful to you?

Beautiful change

"the curious paradox is

that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change."

-from Energy Medicine by Donna Eden

loving pictures of hanging dresses. When I was more than a little larger, I hung the prettiest dresses in my prettiest size on my bedroom curtain rails- just because I loved them so much. I couldn't wear them, but I loved to see them, and they were the last thing I saw going to sleep at night, and the first thing when I woke up. Here's the bit that made the magic - ie. the fitting into them again! work- everytime I saw them I got so excited at the moment when I'd look beautiful in them once again. That moment was so powerful and positive, the journey to getting there just melted away...

Do you need to hang a pretty dress somewhere, too?

Keep choosing.... your dream life

Just finished the January Cheat Sheet and stumbled across some amazing confirmation of one of the tips inside... it's so wonderful when this happens- thank you Universe!

Hope you like it. Here goes.

Are you like me and can get, at times, anxious about food, exercise, weight and how-it-all-fits together? Then you're probably as fascinated as I am with Oprah's ups and downs. And here's a really interesting weblink- her personal trainer, medical and spiritual advisor discussing why she's put on weight, and whether it'll go away again.

So, why is this so relevant to feng shui & the law of attraction? Simply because of something her spritual advisor, Michael Bernard Beckwith, refers to. It's not about weight. It's about creating our dream life. He says,

"The ego got in there. She said I conquered it. We are not here to conquer
weight. We are here to activate our potential. What she was talking about was a
personal accomplishment, rather than a way of living.

...What I loved about one of (Bob Greene, Oprah's personal
trainer
) answers when he was talking about Oprah conquering something, he
hit that right on the head. You don't conquer this. You have to wake up
each day and renew your commitments to yourself.
This is a daily
thing... What we're saying here is that it's a way of life and that you have to approach this by doing something every single day for
the rest of your life, and then you celebrate the triumphs along the
way
.

Oprah's trainer, Bob Greene, concludes the discussion by affirming,

"I've been working with her for 14 years. And never on an interview, and I won't
start tonight, will I say the words she beat it. You don't beat this. It's,
again, this daily thing, where you are recommitting to the life that
you're meant to live every day of your life
."

Whether it's weight loss, or to be a more loving person, or like my new year resolution, to look for the beauty in everything, everyday; we need to keep choosing to make it part of our experience.

By every day waking up and deliberately choosing our actions and how we want to live our life, we can reach that place where we are living what a few months before, seemed completely impossible.

So... write down your vision for yourself! Hang it on your mirror, or somewhere where you see it often, and keep talking and thinking and dreaming about it! I'm running, going to do this right now!

and just two quotes beg to finish this post for me:

People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing -
that's why we recommend it daily.
-Zig Ziglar

Here is the secret of all Masters: Keep choosing the same
thing, over and over again.
-Neale Donald Walsch (Conversations With God book 1, paraphrased)

Feng Shui for Weight Loss

I'm so excited & have to share it with you! The May "cheat sheet" is just about ready for delivery, and it's on Feng Shui for Health and Fitness- and my favourite aspects of this topic- feng shui for physical energy and fat-busting.

It's fair to say that we'd all love to improve our body in some way. Whether it’s food choices, body image or aversion to exercise that sabotages your shape, this edition of Feng Shui By The Sea's free e-newsletter offers you a virtual buffet of solutions that could work for you.

Last month I promised I’d share with you the three most powerful tools that I’ve experienced using in feng shui, beginning with the Gratitude list for Abundance in April’s edition just passed. This month, it’s #2: the supersonically powerful set of Energy instructions for moving from sickness to health, by harnessing the power of feng shui and the law of attraction. I can’t recommend you do this for yourself highly enough. It changed my life dramatically earlier this year, and I’ve seen it work for countless others. P.S. All you have to do is pick up a pen...

More energy coming your way! register by ticking the box when you cut and paste this link in your browser: http://www.fengshuibythesea.com/contact.htm

or send an email to rescueme@fengshuibythesea.com

I look forward to co-creating more harmony, prosperity & success with you!
