Selling your home with Feng Shui

Having difficulty selling your home?  Here's a remedy from the black hat and compass schools of feng shui- and a little bit of activation with the Law of Attraction-  which I have helped clients implement with great success!

"To sell your home with feng shui, get a photo of it in an advertisement, and paste it to a red piece of paper or cardboard.  Write "sold" or place a sold sticker over it, and be sure to feel confident and happy as you do so.  You can even plan how you're going to celebrate the sale!

Place the picture in the South of the home.  In this area should also be a mirror, ideally round, with a gold frame.  Green leafy plants and lighting candles (best number: nine) here also activates the powerful fire element to encourage change.  Next, in the North West, place pictures of your angels, deity, or spiritual beliefs, any crystals you have, a bamboo or metal windchime, and pretty flowering plants.

Activating the South and the North west simultaneously helps the home pass into wonderful new hands in a very blessed way.

Love on the week-end

"Being in love is so good for you. Often when people are newly in love, things that have been bothering them for a long time get better. Something wonderful is calling the majority of their attention, so they're holding themselves in a better vibrational place, so the stuff they've been wanting all along can now zoom in." -Abraham-Hicks

This weekend, in love with.... (L to R)
summers coming... the wild dog roses have arrived (smelling so divine!)
Bluebell glens and wild Manx garlic
Coconut-scented gorse and heady, sunshine-y days,
Magnificent sunsets on our doorstep
delicious home cooked vegetarian meals... baking, making, creating.  Yum.

I hope you fall in love this weekend, too!

2011's Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Happy Chinese New Year!  To find out what the Year of the Rabbit holds in store for you, you can visit the dedicated Dragon Gate feng shui and  new year predictions.  And if you are a Rooster, especially!- please look after your feng shui, making sure your bed head is pointed towards an auspicious direction.

Feng Shui Flying Stars
For all of us, I would recommend at the very least, some tumbled Sodalite crystals in the North to take advantage of the very good luck that can be enhanced for Career, and this year only you can place a five-rod metal windchime in the South East which will enhance communication and bring prosperity.  Beware of doing renovations in the East; the three Buddhas placed here will offer protection and bring peace.

Let's meet
If you are in Doha, please come to my workshop at the Sharq Village Six Senses Spa on "Wellness" Monday 21st Februay.  Our focus is building beauty and balance around your personal Chinese elemental balance.  You can visit the Six Senses website here; here are their twitter updates

Gong Xi Fai Cai...  May the year of the peaceful, home-loving Rabbit smile upon you, bringing you good friends, and prosperous, elegant times!

How to tread water: thoughts on a day

:I feel very lucky that you are reading this.  There are many healing places on the web, and yet you are spending your precious time on my blog, perhaps looking for a solution, perhaps gently treading around your question, knowing that in your own time, with just the right information, you will reach an "Ah ha!" moment.

We are all healers, but none of us do the healing- we simply let healing be. Haven't you been asked to step into the dark space of someone's life?  They don't ask for things to be fixed.  But with your fresh perspective, you bring the cool, blue light of truth to the situation.  And then your friend can see there's no monsters under the bed after all.

Lay your hands on me...

I think part of my calling here is to be asked to shine a cool, blue light of truth- often just at the cusp of when a friend is about to include those monsters as their own.  I believe it's a thick line, not a thin one, that turns ideas we harbour into ideas that manifest and create negativity in our life.  It's actually hard to make bad things happen.  But the more you practise the thinking about it...

So if you keep thinking habitually, there may be something wrong with your place...
Or something in your life is making your body rebel, or you don't feel quite comfortable...
You are so clever, you will eventually find a reason
or we can get it out in the open, and heal it together.

here if you need!
samantha@fengshuibythesea.com

Just a little aloha of two lovely tricks I use, that help:

One is the rose quartz shield, in public places or when I am attracting attention.
Picture yourself swathed in a pale pink glow of light, softly pulsating and nourishing.  This is your positivity cocoon, for only love can enter here.  You are safe, and all interactions are gentle, and beautiful.

The other is the Cutting of Cords, when I feel someone has attached psychic energy or hooks into me;
Picture the strong and infinitely supportive Archangel Michael standing behind you with a large pair of silver scissors.  Say, "please Archangel Michael, remove this resistance from me," and watch him cut the cords from your back swiftly and smoothly.  Feel the lightness and freedom you have now to continue your journey.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep:  I wish tonight for health in the beautiful state of Queensland and for its people.  I wish tonight for health for Billy and Nancy and for balance and unexpected good turns for dear clients I am holding in my heart as I prepare your reports.  I turn my wishes and the intentions of my heart, he actions of my hands, to you, my Universe.

Strengthen Your Imagination for beautiful Change

"The Present Moment is a Powerful Goddess"- Goethe

"Despite all thoughts we may have about past mistakes or future problems, we can call upon the Law of The Present Moment, reminding ourselves that only Now exists.  All we have to do is to make the most of relaxing into and embracing this moment, and put one foot in front of the other, as we handle what appears right now, one moment, one step at a time."  -Dan Millman, The Life You Were Born to Live

Living in the Present Moment is a wonderful way to get back on track if we seem overwhelmed with life's circumstances- circumatances which are, simply, pictures and stories we are showing ourselves.  There is very rarely any Present Moment that is such a problem.  Most of our problems are remembered or imagined, after all!

This year, I ask the Universe for it's divine help to use my imagination, which so easily defaults back to sad pictures it remembers from "sometime in the past" to create worries about the "future", to putting it's brilliantly clear creativity to work making brilliant bright pictures of things yet to be, which would be wonderful and so exciting.

I know it's a big jump- I've got out of the habit of working out my imagination in this way, and it's gotten a little flabby!  So much so, it's default attitude is just to remember the past.  This slackness has gotten too much- so, this Imagination needs strength training!

Tto build it up, first I'll meditate regularly- once, or twice a day, for 10 minutes at a time, relaxing and embracing into the moment (it's so much easier to think of nothing when you're not feeling especially positive, for that requires a major energetic jump)

From meditation, I'll be able to discipline my imagination to only call to mind memories that make me smile and fill my heart with success and love...

Then, having been made so much stronger, and assisted by daily looking for the beauty in life, what's new and exciting and stimulating, my imagination will truly be ready to create a brilliantly imagined future.

“If you want to achieve your goals and master any area of your life—your finances, your health, your relationship—you must first develop a compelling vision to get you excited about what it is you’re striving to achieve.”  -Tony Robbins

Does your brilliant imagination need firming up enjoy your dream life this year, too?

Season's Greetings!

Just checking in to wish you days full of love and laughter in this time 'twixt holidays.  Walking high on the hill this morning, streams were flowing in the warm sunshine, birds sang as ice and snow melted revealing green grass... it reminded me of the breaking of the White Witch's spell over Narnia in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (pre-hollywood, never see much movies here...)

Reminded me of a "Life Rule" by the crazy, funny Bob Parsons"There's a smile in everything- so find it!"

Whether you're in sticky heat or icy sleet, may you enjoy each and every moment of your holidays.

"There's Magic in Everything- let's find it!"

P.S.
Are you on Facebook?  Would you come visit, then, via the link below, and post a question to the wall or give us a thumbs up!  I'm happy to answer your queries and it will be lovely to have this plaltform to share more harmony, prosperity and success...

2 years later, a greener & more welcoming Doha

A greener and more welcoming.. and, somehow, a seeming more spiritually- safe Doha has welcomed me this week.
It is lovely to catch up with friendly lightworkers from past time here and lots of healers I didn't cross paths with two years ago, as well as more recent arrivees, all contributing to make this a wonderful expat city to enjoy meditation groups, yoga classes, enlightenment book clubs and for practising everyday awareness.  I feel so happy and grateful for the chance to discover all of this!!

Or could it be that:  "When we change the way we look at things...
(the things we look at change)... ?

the zig zag towers in West Bay, in this picture two years ago, are finally finished- see top photo.  can i just say how lovely and green the corniche is looking- and in our compound and around, the trees have grown taller to offer blessed shade.  The turquoise colour of the Gulf has to be seen to be believed.

Your Chinese Horoscope for the Year of the Metal Tiger!

Here are lovely predictions. There's all sorts of soothsaying along the lines of a tumultuous and finance-struck year. But I see nothing in our personal astrology ahead that's scary; just a good shake-up for the cocky ones that need it.

These lovely pictures are especially wonderful because in Chinese Astrology, each sign has it's opposite- that's the individual that annoys us beyond all comprehension, the one 'type' that really pushes all our buttons...

The Monkey and the Tiger are like that.  Can't stand each other.  Can't understand each other.

So, aren't these pictures lovely???

I'm not convinced that opposites are enemies.  This Monkey and Tiger seem to be so happy in each others arms!  And, as a Snake, with my arch-enemy (supposedly) a Pig, my longest love relationship that taught me so much about partnership, and life; as well as my most favourite business interaction, have both been with Pigs. (I never pretended to understand either of them.  I was more... in awe of the way they operated.  But they needed me.  Go figure.)  So bear in mind.  In life, like in horoscopes, there's room to make what you see fit... fit in.

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

RAT (born 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008)
Your considerable charm and quick wit will be your saving grace many times in the Tiger year. You’ll gracefully back down from any fights to keep yourself intact. It’s wise to concentrate your efforts on the last six months of 2010 and plan ahead. You’ll develop extra social skills and make many friends. A lucky year for you financially.
Best Tip for Health: Life isn’t going to slow down just yet, so make the most of opportunities to relax..
Best Tip for Love: Late summer will see you happy and contented in matters of the heart
Best Tip for Money: You’ve been dreaming of a holiday- this year you’ll find a great deal that will be well worth the expense.

OX (born 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009)
By concentrating on the plans you’ve already put into place you’ll get a good share of luck in the year of the Tiger. The Tiger’s risk-taking bravado isn’t really your style, so in order not to be misunderstood, carry on with your mission as usual. Be ready for unexpected windfalls and lots of fun social activity.

Best Tip for Health: Friends and family members are a great release for you. Enjoy their loving support..
Best Tip for Love: Plan for a romantic December with your special someone
Best Tip for Money: Take advantage of career opportunities in late spring.

TIGER (Born 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998)
It’s going to be a spectacular year for Tigers, who enjoy the rollercoaster ride of life more than just moseying along. Your successes will be as exciting as your failures, so keep this in mind in all your endeavours. Pick your battles that stimulate your passion, and your strong personality and intelligence will see you all the way to first place. Look after your health and balance party with recovery time so you can play your best everyday.

Best Tip for Health: Put the past behind you and focus on a bright and successful time ahead..
Best Tip for Love: A friendship will blossom and deepen this year with exciting results
Best Tip for Money: All money-making ideas should be fully investigated- you’ve got the chance to really increase your income in 2010.

RABBIT (Born 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999)
A hectic year for you, Rabbit, but if you overcome your tendency to feel harassed and get disappointed
when things don’t appear to immediately work out in your favour, you will accomplish a lot. Expect to help many people and be helped in return beyond your expectations… this is a lucky year for you and all areas of your life will grow and thrive.

Best Tip for Health: Avoid feeling tired by ensuring you get enough rest and relax with activities that inspire you..
Best Tip for Love: A work-related event will bring a romance opportunity in late summer
Best Tip for Money: A job promotion and chances to shine will be offered throughout the year- jump at the chance to improve your status.

DRAGON (Born 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000)
You don’t like not being the centre of attention, but this year you’ll be sharing that limelight with a sign just as outgoing and adventurous as you (although not as stylish, true). Temper your competitive streak and look for solutions that benefit all concerned. You’ll have an exciting year and enrich your relationships as others begin to recognize your caring and thoughtful capacities. Being on your best behaviour and looking good will attract wonderful new opportunities.

Best Tip for Health: Take time to look after yourself; neglect will bite you back in years to come..
Best Tip for Love: You’re surrounded by admirers and genuine love will grow from travel together this year
Best Tip for Money: Prepare for an increase in income and you can expect a lucky windfall- but watch you don’t blow it all on an impulse!

SNAKE (Born 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001)
The wise one, the loner, the thoughtful and clever one- your natural tendencies will allow you to make one or two wonderful things happen for yourself in 2010. Whilst the rest of the world may seem full of action and accomplishments, staying focused on your desires will richly reward you with the outcomes you seek by the Tiger year-end.

Best Tip for Health: Seek out the company of those who make you laugh. You’ll feel better for it..
Best Tip for Love: The second half of the year has you feeling sensual- enjoy your flirting, and fine-tune your powers in the bedroom
Best Tip for Money: Careful is your middle name, but be sure you don’t do yourself a disservice by appearing too aloof in the face of opportunity.

HORSE (Born 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002)
This is a year for you to jump at every opportunity and perform your best. Many chances are coming your way to improve your finances, home and love life, quality of living and work situations- and you’ll feel as if you’ve the Midas touch as everything you turn your energy towards brings success for you! Don’t sit by and wonder if you should get involved- go for it, and claim your winnings.

Best Tip for Health: Eat and rest well; you need pure energy for a whirlwind, exciting year ahead..
Best Tip for Love: Early autumn, you’re in hot demand
Best Tip for Money: Emotions and activity levels are high, but your spending needn’t be- look for opportunities to do things at better value, else you may needlessly blow your budget.

SHEEP (Born 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003)
2010 is a luckier year for you and you’ll do well by playing the role that suits you- that of the friend, confidante and peacemaker. Team opportunities and groups bring you luck, and you will find yourself in a position of high esteem as you are an accurate and wise judge of the erratic energy a Tiger year can bring. Instead of treading water in your love and money-life, you’ll find yourself on steadier ground.

Best Tip for Health: Meditation can help you maintain your balance and keep you fresh to take advantage of the opportunities for personal development the year will offer..
Best Tip for Love: Who says love doesn’t happen in an instant? Throughout the summer you’ll have many interesting- possibly romantic- liaisons
Best Tip for Money: if in doubt, seek the advice of a professional. It’s not the year to take financial risks.

MONKEY (Born 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004)
Monkeys and Tigers are arch-enemies, and to succeed this year, you’re going to have to curb your natural tendencies a little. Facts and truth are worth more than fictions this year, so make sure your actions back up your handshake and charming smile! Lucky you’ve got great friends with wise advice and experience to lighten your load; plus there’s new work opportunities galore. If you’ve wanted to travel or work overseas, meet the person of your dreams, or take a sabbatical, this year will smooth your path.

Best Tip for Health: Plan some time out from your regular routine before the summer; a change of scenery will really recharge your batteries..
Best Tip for Love: Towards the end of summer you’ll find love deepens to a surprising new level
Best Tip for Money: Budget, budget, budget. It’ll be a surprising year and you’ll be thankful you’ve planned ahead.

ROOSTER (Born 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005)
Success means a lot to you. And you usually get it. This year is going to test your prowess as a winner though; you’re going to have to use diplomacy, rather than bossiness and sheer persistence, to get what you want. You will be revered by year end as being wiser and more likeable! Further education and travel are indicated in the Tiger year. You love your family and there’s lots of happy memories to make this year with them, too.

Best Tip for Health: Like water off your shiny feathers, let stress run over you. Taking on too much will push you to exhaustion, so use your great organisational skills to delegate..
Best Tip for Love: As winter begins, you’ll be enjoying deeper intimacy and closeness with a wonderful partner
Best Tip for Money: A change of job could be a great financial success for you.

DOG (Born 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006)
It’s time to shine, Dog! Luck is on your side and anything you desire, can be yours. This year is the most auspicious for you in a long time, so discover your desires and go for them. If you’ve dreamed of turning your hobby into a career, expanding your social circle, or revealing the confident, artistic, altruistic personality you hide inside, this is the perfect year. You’re surrounded by friends, opportunity and new offers- each day gets better, this year’s for you!

Best Tip for Health: Talking over your worries will keep you healthy and allow you to keep your energy levels and positive expectations high..
Best Tip for Love: From May, all social invitations have the hint of love built into them- accept them merrily and enjoy the ride!
Best Tip for Money: Expect bonuses or gifts throughout the year. You are a hard-working and honest being, and you deserve all manner of rich surprises.

PIG (Born 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007)
As a trusting and fun-loving soul, one of your biggest challenges this year will be to disregard the gossip and continue with what you know to be true. You can look forward to lots of spontaneous trips away and many happy events. Trust yourself and your experiences and when a course of study or self-development calls- go for it! New doors will open.

Best Tip for Health: Spending time in the great outdoors helps you keep it all in perspective..
Best Tip for Love: Friendships come first in 2010, though the end of the year looks good for intimate encounters
Best Tip for Money: Be sure to check the fine-print and follow up with all financial correspondence this year to keep yourself in the black.

Welcome to 2010

It is so lovely to find guidance coming from the energy of a wonderful teacher at just the right time.  Here I feel appreciation to share with you the words of Doreen Virtue for our journey in 2010:

"If 2009 felt like a long and arduous journey, you’re not alone! It was a year of learning life lessons, sometimes painfully. Many of these were lessons from past lifetimes, and they usually involved themes of taking responsibility for your actions and choices, practicing compassion and forgiveness toward yourself and others, speaking your truth with love, and learning how to balance your life.

2010 promises to bring in welcome changes, provided that you’ve released old toxic energies. The blue moon of New Year’s Eve is a powerful time to declare your intentions aloud or in writing of: “This is what I intend to release, and this is what I intend to welcome into my life.” Ideally, list your intentions outdoors or next to an open window with the moonlight bathing you.

I’ve had miraculous manifestations occur when I hand-write (as opposed to type or just think about) my New Year’s intentions. Several times, I’ve found my lists and everything that I’d written came true . . .even though I had doubts when I wrote them initially. There’s great power in writing your intentions, especially hand-writing which involves your whole body and personal energy much more than typing.

If you feel like you’re starting a new chapter of your life, congratulations, as this is a perfect and pivotal time for new ventures. Although these changes may feel intimidating or even frightening, please know that you’re fully supported as you focus upon one step at a time on your journey.

EVERY part of our lives – every experience, every relationship, every drama yields valuable life lessons. Throughout all of my experiences in 2009, I learned the value of taking actions steps and investing time in my goals and priorities.

My prayer is that you’ll turn any nervousness or anxiety about your goals into excitement! Then I pray that you’ll channel this excitement into taking daily action related to your dream. Even five minutes a day will give you a boost of self-esteem and energy. Your dreams are achievable (often in ways which exceed our expectations) one step at a time.

The new energy of the planet is cooperation, which thankfully replaces the old energy of competition. Competitiveness is based upon “lack mentality,” and thinking that one person wins and one loses. In the new energy, everybody wins and we support one another."

Dear friend, balance in our daily life helps us find our most pure dreams and re-establish our path. Today is a day of just quietly considering how we can feel more balanced.  Not a day to be overwhelmed- but part of our new, gentle awakening.  Welcome to 2010.

Where the heart is... Feng Shui by the Sea

Many people compliment me about the website of Feng Shui by the Sea. I'd love to share with you it's background.

"When I created my website, I was travelling (as I have been since 2003, with longest "home" anywhere being 8 months). I was "so over" the idea of carrying belongings around! I wanted a home I didn't have to carry around me. A home that just existed, I could go to wherever I was in the world. Full of positive energy, holding the essence of what I really loved and a place that made others feel good to visit. Like my business. If only I could live in my business! Out of this desire, Feng Shui By The Sea (website) was made.

An enlightened man in Croatia built it exactly to my specifications and came up with some lovely touches of his own, that just make it more welcoming. I have asked him why he does not put his company name at the foot of the site for referral business. He tells me because it was all my work. Such is his nature.

I feel so happy to welcome you to my "home" and know we have similar hopes & dreams. It is a blessed space on the web and only kindred spirits find it."
