"Because our skin is not simply a boundary, but acts truly as a filter of outside influences both physical and subtle, the healing properties of plants are selectively absorbed through the skin membrane to impart their magic to our very core..." -Dr Michael Tierra
Whilst in Italy I was lucky enough
to collect some beautiful herbs and flowers with which to make tinctures, essences and add to massage oil.
Jasmine, Lavender, & Rose Otto
Lemon blossom from trees grown in terracotta pots on the sunny terrace overlooking Lake Maggiore... as they have for the past 40 years, each season bearing lemons to dress the local seafood dishes, and make the delicious house "Limoncello", renowned as the best in the region
The abundant herb garden offered me Rosemary, Marjoram, Basil, Lemon Thyme, all under the smiling benevolence of Pere. His generosity in letting me take pictures and handfuls back to the UK with me reminds me there is more than enough for us all.
.
Plucked under the Piedmont sun a few days before mid-summer, these beautiful samplings of Italian La Dolce Vita will become sacred medicines and provide a beautiful massage, given as a talisman for protection and good luck, or as a herb pillow during long winter months.
Their sunny climate energy is healing to my dear clients who will require it wherever I bring them in the world.
